My Friday Thought: You need to get the basics right before thinking about innovations, AI, exploratory investigations.

Ensuring the fundamentals are in place to create a solid foundation on which to build before advancing to complexity is vital. This is true so much we have the old adage learn to walk before you run.

Tech is no different, we shouldn't be looking at innovations if we haven't the basics of CI/CD in place. We shouldn't be jumping to AI if basic engineering practices aren't implemented. We shouldn't be looking into exploratory read team events if we haven't secuitry fundamentals in place.

When we get the basics right, then we can do all the above and get great value, otherwise it is building on rocky foundations.
