My Friday Thought: Leadership isn't about knowing all the answers, it's about a willingness to listen to others and showing we care.

We are often keen to show an interest in what children do as we see the benefits to the relationship between us. This can often be forgotten in the workplace as that isn’t seen as our job/responsibility.

Showing we know we don't get everything right and that we not only need, but want to listen to the experts within our teams empowers them to greatness. Showing (and actually) caring about the people and their lives might not be in the job description, but we should demand it from ourselves. Why? If we want authentic workplaces and psychological safety within them we need to focus on more than just the work.
