My Friday Thought: As the festive break arrives, I am always reminded of the amazing people who continuously work over all different types of holidays to ensure the health, safety and support of our communities.

Should technology teams have breaks over holidays?

Yes: Even the most critical of technology systems we should be looking at how we enable self healing and are proactive in seeing issues before they hit production. This doesn't mean we can solve everything, but ensuring we have the people who look after the system enjoying time with friends/family for the festival/celebrations that are important to them supports a work/life balance that everyone is entitled to.
