Different views

My Friday Thought: Being on the same page, but having different views which everyone feels safe and empowered to discuss can result in favourable outcomes.

Truly believing in Diversity of Thought and wanting it to exist means that you listen to the views that you may not agree with. You open your mind to could they be right? Maybe it is you that is wrong, or maybe you can both be right.

Having technical discussions and delivery critical patch conversations are made better when everyone's views and thoughts are put on the table. Then you can see all the risk, concerns, costs, complexity as a group and navigate the best path to deliver the least negative impacts for all.

This does mean active listening and a willingness to let go of what you thought was the best approach. Once you can do this though, you can gain so much more.
