Empowerment

My Friday Thought: No one is ready to do something for the first time, you have to empower them to be able to, then support their growth to be able to.

Recently my daughter turned six and got her first bank card, so we loaded up some money so that she can buy everyone in the family a Christmas gifts within her budget. She isn't ready to fully work out how to budget or even how to check her balance etc, however, she was proud of paying for the gifts herself. She also started to take card of where she put the card etc. We have empowered her with the ability to manage her own money and are helping her to get to the ability to do it.

The same can often be true within technology, your team/team member might not be fully ready to take on responsibility for something, but you 100% can empower them to and guide them to being able to handle it. How else will any organisation/person grow.
