Mobbing
My Friday Thought: Bringing together multiple minds to collaborate as one over separately solving a problem has multiple gains - not to mention a good excuse to eat together
An extension on pair programming, the goal is for the whole team to come together in the same space and work on the same computer to resolve a problem. Whilst the idea is the whole group working on one computer, with one driver and the rest as navigators and regular switching , even if it isn't solely done this way the benefits are still great.
Communication is improved and wait time is reduced to zero as the questions are answered within the room. Decisions are taken as a team which results in a general better understanding of the goal - which hopefully means better understanding in later days.
More importantly (in my view) than just the resolving of a common goal, is the benefits (in a mainly remote world) of coming together as team, chatting about not work related issues, eating food as a team and generally building social/work bonds that will aid your teams collaboration for months to come.
